I declare Wednesday a day to be extra grateful & love-filled & a day to share that with everyone. See this for roots.
...
# language. I started Italian a few weeks ago, & am finally getting out of that first awkward phase where nothing sticks or makes sense WHATSOEVER. It also makes me appreciate my various levels of competency in other languages.
# Lucky Strikes. Bought my first pack yesterday & came to realize that they are my new favorite. Expensive though, so mostly good for special occasions. I also intend to learn how to roll my own cigarettes soon.
# sore muscles. You know that feeling you get the day after you exercise? It's like an internal well of vitality, bubbling around inside while you swing & stretch & smile, knowing your body-machine is being worked like it's supposed to. Eating well tends to increase this feeling.
# Bohemia. Cigarettes, letters, caravans, scarves, empty bottles of wine, that certain audacity towards life... I have been in a very romantic phase & want very badly to believe that life could be all emotions & art & profound.
...
Tonight I am making chili dogs; I am very stoked. Might clean my room or offer to begin renovations on the kitchen so my dad can sell his house. Tomorrow is pay-day [& champagne thursday...], then I am up north for the weekend, so posting is possibly going to be sparse until next week.
Have a good one, lovelies!

Good news.
It's Champagne Thursday.
I love Zooey Deschanel [we've got a bandwagon for that], & the character she played in Failure to Launch.
Paula: Hey, hey.
Kit: Hey, Paula. Good news. It's Champagne Thursday.
Paula: It's Friday.
Kit: Uh, yeah, Thursday came twice this week.
Paula: For the third straight week.
Kit: There's talk of making it permanent.
Paula: Oh, kind of like Daylight Saving's Time?
Kit: Right, but for booze.
Anyway, got class from 2:00-4:45, then a commute & work until 9.
Then I'm comin' home, kickin' off my shoes, & pourin' a glass of Chardonnay. [Which I figure is close enough to Champagne - first three letters match - since I don't have any of the latter in current supply]

Ha!
Who says I have to post daily? I can go a full year without a good post, obviously. It must be something in Fall that brings out the rant in me.
Today I went to the laundromat & washed every piece of clothing I own. Intention being, I want to purge the stuff I don't wear anymore so that I feel fabulous & inspired & grateful every time I open my closet.
My stuff only filled about three and a half washers, which I don't think is too bad considering this is pre-downsizing. The point of going to the laundromat [when I do actually have a functional washer & dryer at my house] was to see all my clothes grouped together in an unfamiliar place, and whatnot. I think it worked; I left two shirts in the lost&found already & have a renewed perspective on everything else, so when I dig through it all later, I won't be coddled into keeping something that I only like in the sanctity of my own bedroom.
I am going to go put my laundry away, & everything that I haven't worn lately is going in a box. If I don't miss it before I move in January, it's staying in the box & the box is not going with me.
By the way, I work at the laundromat. I am a laundress? Laundry lady? Mistress of accoutrement?
